Bryony has loved horses for as long as she can remember and was lucky enough to have her first pony at 9 years of age, a beautiful welsh mountain pony called Cloud, who knew every trick in the book. Bryony enjoyed pony club eventing and shows as a teenager but work and other commitments meant that riding and horses took a back seat for a while. Bryony enjoyed a 4 month trip to Borneo scuba diving and doing marine scientific research in her late twenties which prompted a career change to science from administration. Bryony spent many years nursing horses with Equine Grass Sickness and doing scientific research into this devastating disease at the R(D)SVS, University of Edinburgh. Grass Sickness remains a passion of Bryony’s and she now sits on the Equine Grass Sickness committee, helping to raise money for continued research and dissemination of information about Grass Sickness to the general public. A further passion of Bryony’s is her young quarter horse Sparky, whom she hopes with further training, will make a safe, happy horse to have some fun with and maybe enter in the odd show!
